A little more “snap” would be nice 08/12/2018

Overall, I’d call this thing more of a novelty than an everyday carry sort of item. It’s heavier than I expected, so it probably belongs in a tool pouch as opposed to your pants pocket. It’s pretty stout, but the “assist” spring is a bit weak. It opens, but I expected a bit more “snap.” I have a number of spring assisted folding knives, so maybe my bar is set a little high. I ordered two of them, one for my son (a drummer who likes to travel light and a drum key bit fits in the blade) and one for me to fiddle with. I took mine apart to see if I could adjust the spring tension. It can be done, but if you try to do this, I recommend getting a similar spring and bending the end to match the configuration after trimming the spring to increase the recoil force. I succeeded to some degree, but it would have been better if it was just snappier in the first place. Overall I’m happy with it; I just wanted to be able to say “I have a switchblade screwdriver.” I do.
Our responseI agree, a little more snap would be nice. To accomplish this, a flick of the wrist as you are opening it will provide the snap you are looking for.
